FAQ

Questions patients ask before booking.

If your question is not answered here, message us on WhatsApp — we are happy to help.

Do I need a referral to see Dr Usman? +

No. You can book directly via WhatsApp, the contact form, or by phone. If you have prior reports, please bring or send them — it helps us make the most of your visit.

What conditions does Dr Usman treat? +

Gastroenterology (GERD, IBS, IBD, peptic ulcer, H. pylori, gastritis, dyspepsia, chronic constipation, chronic diarrhea, hemorrhoids, celiac), hepatology (hepatitis B & C, fatty liver, cirrhosis, jaundice, gallstones, pancreatitis), and internal medicine including diabetes and endocrine care.

How is Hepatitis C treated today? +

Modern direct-acting antivirals cure most patients in 8–12 weeks. Dr Usman is certified in Hepatitis C Management by the Royal College of Physicians. Treatment is selected based on viral load, genotype, and liver fibrosis stage.

Can fatty liver really be reversed? +

In most patients with simple fatty liver (NAFLD) — yes. Reversal usually requires sustained lifestyle change combined with management of related conditions like diabetes or high cholesterol. For more advanced cases (NASH), active medical management is added.

Will I need an endoscopy or colonoscopy? +

Not necessarily. We order procedures only when they will change the management plan — red-flag symptoms, abnormal findings on basic tests, family history, or symptoms that have not responded to standard treatment.

Are online consultations effective? +

Yes, particularly for follow-ups, second opinions, and reviewing test results. For a first visit involving abdominal pain or significant symptoms, an in-person exam is usually better. Dr Usman will advise you on the right format.

How long does a first consultation take? +

Plan for 30–45 minutes. Visits are not rushed — we take a careful history, examine, review prior reports, and walk through the plan together.

Can family members come to the appointment? +

Absolutely. Many patients find it helpful to bring a family member, especially for complex conditions or first visits. We encourage it.

Are my consultations confidential? +

Completely. Every consultation — including for hepatitis B/C, hemorrhoids, or any condition that carries social stigma — is private. We do not discuss your case with anyone without your consent.

What languages does Dr Usman speak? +

English and Urdu fluently. Visits are conducted in whichever language is most comfortable for you.

A clear plan starts with a careful conversation.

If something feels off — pain, reflux, fatigue, jaundice, weight change — don't wait it out alone. Book a consultation and let's understand it together.
